Crossing the desert

Hi, this is our first post.
December 2012, we decided to launch our surrogacy journey.
Before this date, we tried to have a baby during more than 10 years.
We had several surgeries during this period, Caro because of a severe endometriosis and Fred because of varicocele. We did more than 7 IVF in our country, each time it failed, and sometimes it was harder because of miscarriages. After several years of treatments we did everything we could try in france, so we decided to go in Spain for doing IVF with an egg donor because in france you can wait two years before to have an egg donor. We did 2 IVF in Spain, but it also failed, and it was very difficult because we had a good hope that it could work...
So, it was our last chance and during several days, we asked to us if we could live without having children. This is an horrific sensation, like something you cannot fight...
It was clear that we could not live without creating a family, so the two last options was adoption or surrogacy. We tried to adopt, with a lot of difficulties, in france it is not easy and you can wait several years before to have a baby. So we decided to begin a surrogacy journey, and as it is forbidden in france we decided to look for a solution else where.
And after searching on the web, USA was the best option (security for surrogate mother, donor and us).
It was the beginning of this project!

  1. Thank you for sharing your story with us. I am so sorry for all your struggles, but as we have spoken about, I pray that there are no more disappointments, and our journey turns out with a beautiful baby. Big hugs to you both from across the ocean. I feel like I've already made friends in you.
